1.3 acres to be acquired for the project

Dharwad Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil said the government will purchase 1.3 acres of land for the Elevated Corridor project at Kittur Chennamma Circle in Hubballi and £ 25 million has been set aside for this purpose.

At the stakeholder meeting at the KCCI Auditorium in Hubballi on Friday, Mr. Patil reassured attendees that care should be taken to ensure that the public does not experience major difficulties while the project is being carried out.

He said that in the first phase, a four-lane flyover would be built on the road connecting Gadag and Vijayapura Streets to Kittur Chennamma Circle. A 750 m high road would be built from Ambedkar Circle to the intersection. In the same way, a 440-meter high road would be built on Vijayapura Road, he said.

Regarding Hosur Circle, another intersection facing congestion issues, the DC announced that National Highway Authority (NHAI) officials had received a proposal to build a rotary flyover at the circle.

On the 4km stretch between KC Circle and Gabbur Cross, omitted as part of the high corridor project, Patil said an overpass would be built at a total cost of £ 368 billion from funding from the Huballi Dharwad Urban Development Authority (HDUDA) and others Grants.
