The three militants wearing the Hezboll-Mujahideen terror outfit were encircled in Pulwama’s Lelhar area on Friday evening
Two militants surrendered and one injured militant was rushed to hospital at one o’clock on Saturday morning Meeting point in South Kashmir’s Pulwamawhere a security forces operation was launched on Friday evening.
“Two terrorists surrendered to senior police and security officers along with two AK 47 rifles. A terrorist who was injured in the encounter was taken to hospital for medical treatment,” said Police Inspector General Vijay Kumar.
The three militants were circled in Pulwama’s Lelhar area on Friday evening. First, the captured militants opened fire on the security forces and sparked an encounter.
“The militants belonged to the Hezboll-Mujahideen,” police said.
They have been identified as Akeel Abdullah Lone and Abdul Rouf Sheikh, both locals from southern Kashmir.
Recently, the Kashmiri police have adopted a new strategy “which gives local militants, especially new recruits trapped in the encounters, ample time to surrender,” officials said.
