The former Prime Minister of Haryana and the Indian chief of Lok Dal, Om Prakash Chautala, have tested positive for coronavirus. He was admitted to Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital.

It was reported that the grandson of 85-year-old OP Chautala, Karan Chautala, attended a wedding ceremony two days ago.

OP Chautala and his son Ajay Chautala were convicted by a Delhi court in January 2013 in connection with the illegal hiring of over 3,000 teachers. Both were found guilty of accepting bribes in exchange for the selection of teachers.

Previously his grandson and Haryana’s deputy prime minister Dushyant Chautala had tested positive for coronavirus in October. Chautala had turned away from INLD and founded his own party called the Jannayak Janta Party, which is an ally of the BJP in Haryana.
