The final T20I between India and Australia could be played to a full house as the New South Wales (NSW) government seeks to lift stadium restrictions from December 7th.

In the three-game ODI series between India and Australia, viewers returned to the stadium for the first time since March when international cricket stalled after the coronavirus outbreak. (Only 50 percent of the stadium was allowed to be filled).

Outdoor stadiums may be used to 100%

According to a Reuters report, NSW Prime Minister Gladys Berejiklian said outdoor stadiums will be allowed to be 100% full from Monday.

“What we have been trying to do here is strike a healthy balance between people’s freedom and business thriving while maintaining basic principles of a safe life in Covid,” Berejiklian was quoted as saying by Reuters.

No new case of Covid-19 has been reported in the state for three weeks.

This development means the third and final T20 to be played on Tuesday at the Sydney Cricket Ground can now have a full house.

After completing the ODI series, which Australia won 2-1, the teams will compete in a T20 series with three games from Friday.

The opening T20 will be played at Canberra’s Manuka Oval on Friday, followed by the second game in Sydney on Sunday.

“A streak that broke records on and off the field deserves a full house, and that’s exactly what we will have for the final T20 International between the Australian and Indian men’s teams at SCG on Tuesday December 8th,” said CA’s fan boss engagement Anthony Everard is quoted by the Sydney Morning Herald.
