My father a parasite, was never involved in my life: Shehla Rashid’s refutes charges against her

Days after her father made serious allegations against her, JNU student leader Shehla Rashid said Wednesday that he was never involved in the upbringing of her and her sister.

“My sister and I were raised by a single parent as my father wasn’t there for us emotionally or financially,” she wrote on Twitter.

Dismissed writing a detailed Twitter thread Abdul Rashid Shora’s allegationsShehla Rashid said that in her father’s letter to the Jammu and Kashmir DGP he made several factually false claims against her.

“He didn’t even know what class we were studying in – clear from his letter that said ‘Shehla was in the final semester of her PhD in sociology in 2017,'” she added, telling him a simple Google search told about her educational qualifications.

In his letter against daughter Shehla Rashid, Abdul Rashid Shora had requested a police investigation of her NGOs.

However, Shehla Rashid wrote that she is not affiliated with such organizations. “He says that I run 3 NGOs. This shows how much he is involved in my life! Anyone who follows me from a distance knows that I am not affiliated with any NGO,” said Shehla Rashid.

Shehla Rashid further denied his claims regarding financial transactions between them and their meetings in 2017.

Shehla Rashid wrote that her sister cut ties with her father after he refused to get chickenpox against Shehla in 2017.

Shehla Rashid called her father a “parasite” and said he exploited her mother for money and abused her physically and verbally. She added that her mother raised her and her sister as a single parent.

“The truth is, he was just a parasite who financially exploited my mother, physically and verbally abused her. My mother served the government for 32 years and raised us on her halal income, blood, sweat and tears. You it’s our mom and dad … She’s even put up with abuse for so long, just so we’d have a dad for looks’ sake! “Shehla wrote.

In her post, Shehla Rashid reiterated that her father made the false allegations against her in order to get her to withdraw the domestic violence her family has brought against him.

“This political stunt of his is a brazen attempt on his part to pressure us to withdraw the domestic violence case in which we are not only petitioners but also witnesses. In fact, the tactic amounts to intimidating witnesses,” she said.

What has happened so far?

On Monday, Shehla Rashid’s father, Abdul Rashid Shora, called his daughter to pose a threat to his life. He called for an investigation into their NGOs to be opened and accused Shehla Rashid of taking a huge amount of money to join politics in the Kashmir Valley.

Shehla Rashid denied her father’s allegations, calling his testimony “absolutely disgusting and unfounded”.

Describing the allegations as “utterly disgusting and unfounded,” she said the fact is that they filed a domestic violence complaint against her father in a Kashmiri court and issued an order restricting his entry into her home.
