Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit and inaugurate Tamil Nadu and Kerala on Sunday several development projects in the two survey-bound states.

“Tomorrow, February 14th, it will be in Chennai (Tamil Nadu) and Kochi (Kerala). Much development work would be started to accelerate the fulfillment of the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The projects will promote the livability of our citizens” Mr. Modi tweeted in English, Malayalam and Tamil of its official grip.

The Prime Minister is expected to be in Chennai before 11:15 a.m. when the first official event is due to begin. He will then reach Kochi to lay the foundation stone around 3:30 p.m. and dedicate various projects to the nation. He is accompanied by the respective prime ministers and governors as well as the Union Minister for Oil and Natural Gas in Kochi.

Anti-drone jammers are part of the security blanket for PM Modi’s Chennai visit

As part of an elaborate security precaution for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, security authorities have installed jammers against drones at lookout points who will visit Chennai to start various projects on Sunday. The prime minister is said to be in town for about three hours before heading to Kochi.

After an early security meeting attended by Special Protection, Chennai Police, State Intelligence, and other law enforcement agencies, security officials decided to put anti-drone jammers on at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, home of the official program, and other strategic locations along the way install along the convoy route.

Security in Chennai was increased ahead of the prime minister’s visit

Police are making extensive security arrangements ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city to attend a public program on Sunday.

“We have taken all the necessary safety precautions for the rally. We will set up a four-shift security facility and deploy 6,000 police officers from the city police and their special forces. Five unions boycott the start of the BPCL project through Modi

Workers affiliated to five unions will attend the inauguration of the propylene derivatives petrochemical project at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) boycotted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Sunday in protest against the divestment of the public company.

The unions said in a press release here on Friday that the inauguration of the project, despite the start of production at the plants, aims to capitalize on the parliamentary elections due in the state. The employees of the Cochin Refineries Workers’ Association (CITU); Cochin Refineries Employees Association (INTUC); Refinery Union (KR); Kochi Refinery General Construction Workers Union (CITU); and the Kochi Refinery General Construction Workers Congress (INTUC) will boycott the program.

The unions said the prime minister introduced double standards by dedicating a project to the nation while he continued his divestment process. The Union budget has repeated that the sale will be completed in the 2021/22 financial year.
